Deeds of Flesh - Nucleus.

This mixture of technicality and brutality cements Deeds Of Flesh's reputation as one of the most influential DM bands of the last 25 years.

If a death metal band had to hang up their flying V's, retire their studded belts and slope off to the halls of Valhalla, they could ask for none finer a swansong album than 'Nucleus'. This is by no means the last album from Deeds Of Flesh, only the last to feature music and lyrics from mainstay Erik Lindmark who passed away sadly in 2018.

'Nucleus' features guest vocals from Suffocation, Disgorge, Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus and Gorguts (amongst others) so you are in good hands. Highlights for us are 'Alyen Scourge' and 'Ascension Vortex'; the latter is bone shakingly heavy! This is old school death metal with a modern production and it is bloody fantastic!

Craig Peters guitar slays, he balances scathing riffs with arpeggio punctuated solos with ease, assisted by Darren Cesca's gravity-defying drumming, especially on 'Catacombs of the Monolith' and 'Terror'. This mixture of technicality and brutality cements Deeds Of Flesh's reputation as one of the most influential DM bands of the last 25 years.

'Nucleus' stands out for us as a true powerhouse, all the boxes ticked for quality metal. If you haven't heard Deeds Of Flesh, this might be your gateway in and it's a perfect way to start, if this is to be their last album, what a way to go.
